I'M READING LEAVE ME ALONE....

Ok so it seems af if it has been a little while since my last update. I am going to give you a good one. today first of all I have not been playing hardly any poker at all. Why? well I recently recieved the big deal, and the bigger deal. I cant seem to put it down long enough to play.

"But Ace, you have not posted for a week what else is going?" I hear you saying.

Well I have been doing a lot of sitting on my balcony looking over the ocean and sipping on coffee. It is stupid hot here in okinawa right now. So much so that yesterday I went and checked CNN to see if the sun had indeed absorded the planet earth in some sort of silent supernova. However it had not and when I checked the weather channel I typed in Naha, okinawa and it said nuclear hot. Now I am not sure of the scale but I think it goes hot, fucking hot, stupid hot, crazy hot, and nuclear hot. To make matters worse the humidity is at like 1,000% I kid you not yesterday I ran out to my car. Ok I lied I did not run. I walked out to my car to grab something and came back in my house were I proceeded to wring out my shirt.

Now that I am done bitching I will let everyone know that I hope to play some more poker in the near future. SO Stay tuned and I will be back. Maybe tomorrow I will hook you up with some good content

Running pretty good and making friends to boot...

Wow I mentioned int he last post that I had fun over the weekend playing. I forgot to mention the great table I had when I was playing a 180 man tourney I was on the same table with these two guys from table one all the way to win I busted out in 15th place. SO for like 3 hours we talked away about poker and life in general. Without a doubt one of my best experiences in online poker.

The reasoned I mention that it was because of one of the players that I started playing the 6.50 18 man games. It is working gout pretty well for me. I will start my step system with them as soon as I build a little more of a bank roll. Anyways I played two of these 18 man one last night with the guy that I am talking about and again had a really good experience.

It is weird but for the most part you can fold your way to the final table and then the people left usually know how to play so you can actually play poker and not cross your fingers and hope the guys 73o doesn't hit instead of you AKs. Will post the updated rules for the steps challenge once I finalize them. Just in a good mood in general with poker right now

It hurt my bankroll but it was fun....

Had a very fun poker weekend. I did not go completely crazy however I did get a little stupid, and p layed some games not in my bankroll. I had a lot of fun though. I think I am about to give up on th $4.40 180 man tournaments. I went deep in the first one I played this weekend but busted out a little early for my taste in all thothers I played. If you look over to the side I am changing one of my challenges from the 45 man "steps" to the 18 man "steps" challenge. Same rules apply other then starting at the 1.75 range instead of the 3.25 range. I played a ton of 18 man turbos this weekend. I enjoyed them a lot. If I had stayed away form the 16 dollar ones I would have actually made money this weekend. I had an unfortunate occurance where I wa son the bubbl eof a $16 18 man game and I was talking to my kids, and when I looked down I see KK. WOOT!!!, but wait there is more the two people in front of me are all in "double fist pump". I slide the bar over to go all in as well when *poof* I am sitting out. NOOOOO!!!!! Then the poker gods punish me even more when a third K hits the flop and K8 offsuit takes down a monster pot with two pair. I truly think this one hand cost me prob $50...

My ring game challenge starte doff well when I found out playing like a complete idiot does pay off... Then I found out ebventually it catches up with you and you lose your money. So for anyone who has wondered does the dumbass that just took my money really get his in the end? the answer is with out a doubt yes!!!.

Only played two single table games this weekend but I plan on playing several this week. Like the title said I lost a little money but I had more fun then I have had playing in a long time.

A little of each, a big loss and a big comeback

Well I did not have a whole lot of time to play last night but I managed to play a few hands at .10/.25. I want to talk about my .10/.25 play first. I am currently trying to develope a LAG style for the ring games. If nothing else it has been exciting. More so the that I have actually felt that little twinge in my stomach as the cards are coming out wondering if I made the right play or not. The swings are huge I buy in fo $15 at the 25nl table. I am playing a large percentage of my hands but I am also learning to get gone when i feel beat. I am learning to throw away second pair. I am learning when to recognize an obvious C-bet and when to run away scared when the obvious C-bet turns into a monster. I really enjoy playing LAG the problem is if you make a mistake it is huge.

I played 2 3.40 SnG's I placed 1st in one and dont really want to talk about the other. I played one 45 man but once again bubbled. I think I am going to loosen up a bit early in hopes of fleecing some of the worse players.

Like I said befor emy posts will get more frequent and more in depth later. I just have some personal stuff to handle first

The beginning of the triple threat challenges...

Well I had fun playing last night I played a little ring games, then played one 45 man tourney. I bubbled form the 45 man in 9th place. I strted out the cash game with a bang winning something like 40 dollars in .10/.25 but lost thirty later on ended the day ahead though. So, I can't really complain.

Have not heard form my friend who turned $10 that I gave him into $900.00 last I heard he was on a bit of a down swing. My situation at work that has been eating up so much of my time seems like it might just resolve in my favor. I shoul dhave more time real soon. I have to catch up iin two online college classes though first. OnceI am done with all that I can devote a little more time to poker.

In the last month I have not made much money however i have not lost and I have played a ton of poker. Eventually I will start building my roll, but until then I am having fun just playing. I want to play quite a bit this weekend. how much I play depends on how much of my stuff I get done before then though.

Well I have updated the right side with all the challenge info...

A Reprieve...Trying to mix it up a bit...

Sorry I have not updated the last couple of days. There are many great excuses for this. Such as my neighbors pet grizzly bear swallowed my laptop, or how about I was to busy trying to thread a needle with my penis to play 3.40 Sit and Go's. Unfortunately those are much more exciting then the truth. Which is I am just bored with 3.40 SnG. I think a lot of it stems from constraining my play to just those the majority of the time.

Due to this boredom the last 20 or so game shave been lack luster and nothing special. I began to feel like I had to play, and that is not why I play poker. I play because I enjoy it. So I am going to track three simultaneous challenges. That's right I said three simultaneous challenges. The first being the 1000 3.40 SnG Challenge. The second will be 100,000 hands of (.10/.25) and (.05/.10). Ring Games. The third is a self made step tournament with a twist. I call it 45 Steps. After I explain the third challenge you will laugh at the originality of it.

The first challenge is obvious and since I have been doing it for almost a month now should need no explanation. The Second Challenge should also be self explanatory I am going to play a total of 100,000 hands at the .05/.10 or the .10/.25 level. The third took a little bit of creativity since I cant play on party poker I wanted to create a step up type challenge. I have chosen the 45 man turbo's for my venue for this challenge. It is going to work like this. I will start at the 3.00 45 man turbo. If I win I will move up to the 6.00 Turbo but only if I place first. Once at the 6.00 Turbo if finish ITM I will continue to play at the 6.00 level. If I don't finish in the money however I will move back down to the 3.00 level. If I win I will move up to the $12 where I will play at until I either move up for winning or move down one level for not placing ITM. The catch is if I don't finish in the top twenty I will move back down to the $3 level no matter how high up the ladder I am.

Now anybody reading my blog has to be thinking. "what is it with this guy and challenges?" Well the answer is simple they keep me more disciplined. I can honestly say that I have made more correct bubble decisions because did not want to have to post a losing day on this blog for the world to see. Then I care to admit. I want to be a good all around player online, and I just feel Single Table SnG's while can build a bankroll, and teach you how to lay cards down that are easily dominated I think I can learn more from ring games ect. I am also considering playing a little bit of limit hold em as well since I think that could really help my board reading abilities.

Anyways there wont be much of a change in the blog I will still be updating about my play dailyish I hope to have more to say playing a wider variety. The biggest change in my blog is I will sign off with a simple dollar amount which will signify how much I am up or down for the day depending the collar of the text. the detailed stats will be over to the right hand side of the screen.

Day 22 - 26 I think

It has been four days since I posted. I have had a hectic week. I took a couple days off work to take care of some stuff that required me to call people back in the states for hours at a time so I have not played much poker. I have played some though and I have remained pretty even money wise. This is better then losing but I have pretty much stayed even for about 7 days or more now. Being off work the last couple days has provided me the oppurtunity to play during "prime time" on pokerstars. I have to admit getting to the bubble with a decent stack is quite easy during this time but three times lately I got all in with QQ,KK, AA respectively at the bubble and went out in fourth. Eventually the cards will fall my way again. Iknow this I am just pretty happy with my play and the ability to stay even during a dry spell...

I has a $100 dollar buy in game this weekend I chopped for first so we could get a cash game started. I dealt most of the cash game but started to p lay at the end I was a big winner up almost 300 when my AKs got smacked by A3o I got all my money in after the flop when an A hit with 2 clubs, guy flips over A3. The 3 hit the turn and when none of my 17 outs hit I came unglued. I apologized to the table and especially the guy my tantram was aimed at. I did and still do consider him a friend and that was what set me off I think. I really counted on him to make the good lay down there. The all in was also something I did because he was a friend. I pushed to tell him hey you really are beat. Oh well live and learn.

My pace on the challenge has slowed dramatically I hope to pick it up agian once I get some personal issues worked out.

Here are my numbers for the past few days...

Day 21 - A day I want to forget...

Well the day started off bad when my early morning game was interrupted by intermittent connectivity. I thought I was quite lucky though because since the sunday million was going on they paused play. Unfortunately when it resumed the blinds had jumped from 15/30 to 200/400 with 9 people left. The game was complete chaos. Unfortunately I bubbled in 4th and had to lick my wounds feeling completely cheated.

So I innocently go through my day thinking about how my luck will change, or how my cards will prevail. Then BOOM! I get some incredibly bad news. I am not going to elaborate but it sucks, then some more bad news. Then I go to talk to important military people that are supposed ot know how to help in a situation like mine and I get dumb looks. "Errr whats my Job?" is what I imagine the saying.

Anyways Mrs. Dream is in store for a treat let me tell you I walk int the dorr just livid and I am bitching about this cursing about that. I decide to drown my misery in a game or 10!!! of hold-em. BAD IDEA!!! Never I mean never play Internet poker angry. It can only result in chaos, and broken computers. Before I realized what had happened I had played 6 games for a combined total of 134 hands...OUCH... I regained my cool and placed first and second my next two games. I went for a third ITM in a row but was so tired that I was nodding off while playing. I decided to call it quits and re attack the games today.

So here are the numbers:

Day 21 - Games Played: 9, ITM %: 22.22%, 1st: 1, 2nd: 1, 3rd: 0, ROI%: -21.57%

Totals- Games played: 144/1000, ITM%:38.89%, 1st: 13, 2nd: 20, 3rd: 23, ROI%:4.78%

Day 18 - 20 a series of unfortunate events

Well it was a tough weekend in and out of the challenge I blew several buy ins trying to play the 4.40 180 man games on stars. I was trying to change my play a bit but it backfired pretty badly so I am going to look into some strategies later on. A friend of mine had great results playing $12 45 man SnG's so I decided to try them. The players here are easier to beat then the 3.40 players. They are just good enough that they make mistakes when you want them to. They don't make the right call by accident nearly as much. With 12 or 13 people remaining i was 3 or 4 in chips and top 7 paid. Then it happened my computer disconnected and I blinded out in 9th well at least I made the final table.

I decided to play another one and I payed well and doubled once but after that just could not make anything happen so i went out with AQ vs.K8s in 10th place. I then played a few games for the challenge and it was pretty much break even. I really need to get more firsts and seconds, right now getting third is costing me a lot. Unfortunately i looked at 75% of the time I have been ahead when the money goes in preflop. This weekend I had KK beat by Q3, and AA beat by AK. I hope my cards start holding up. I watch with jealously the guy that I gave 10 dollars to. He is up to 900 and I am sitting here donking off my chips at the 3 dollar level. He plays out of his bankroll but his cards are holding up. he is a great player and sometimes plays the odd hand here and there. He explains these odd moves by saying he gets feelings. I wish I got "feelings" the only ones I get while playing poker is the one of vomit inching up my throat when my ACES get cracked by 72o. Has happened twice so far in this challenge.

Well without further ado. i have to congratulate "centerhoop" he finally has a shark swimming next to his name on sharkscope. I have a little goldfish flopping around. Mainly because I won money in satellites then lost i tin SnG's so it shows me down considerably. Anyways. Back to the grind. I hope to make up what I lost in the "biggger games" this week. Oh yeah and stars had issues with connectivity right after my SnG started so I did not get to finish it because I had to go to work. Grrr. So one buy in lost without a fight.

Numbers from this weekend.

Day 18 - Games Played: 3, ITM %: 0.00%, 1st: 0, 2nd: 0, 3rd: 0, ROI%:-100.00%

Day 19 - Games Played: 6, ITM %: 50.00%, 1st: 1, 2nd: 1, 3rd: 1, ROI%: 47.06%

Day 20 - Games Played: 10, ITM %:50.00%, 1st: 0, 2nd: 2, 3rd: 3, ROI%: 5.88%

Totals- Games played: 135/1000, ITM%:40.0%, 1st: 12, 2nd: 19, 3rd: 23, ROI%:6.54%
