Played MTT's

Played some MTT's yesterday cashed in 1 going 35th out of 2070. Really did not like how I played then end of it though. I played a couple of games for the $5 45 man challenge over at Raise The River.

I am currently in second but it is going ot be really tough for me to overtake the leader. I just had two games that really cost me. The last one I played I shoulda won but when my QQ got beat by AQ I had to settle for 5th and 11 less points.

Day 11: 50 games in

Well I have finished my first 50 games. I would like to improve my ROI in the next 50. I think I can as long as I dont have the bad run I had in the beginning of this one.

Here are my complete numbers for my first 50 games:

Played 50 games:
Finished: 1st- 8 Times, 2nd- 5 Times, 3rd- 8 Times for a ITM of 42%
Finished: 4th- 6 Times, 5th- 4 Times, 6th- 0 Times,
Finished: 7th- 5 Times, 8th- 10 Times,9th- 4 Times

Looking at those I am not very impressed with my results so far. I have lost alot of coin flips, and situations were the money went in with me as a huge favorite. Well I have made a profit so far so i guess that is something

Day 8: 4 more games.

I won my first one but lost my next 3 today. played one very badly, the other two I reraised a preflop raiser all in with AK the called with small pp 44/77 and I did not improve. I am noticing small pp and KJ/AJ are the most overplayed hands at this level.

Well decided to try some cash games and like an idiot I dropped $50 when in the second hand I flopped a set and when a guy pushed all in for his two pair he hit his boat which was bigger then mine and wasl eft wondering why I was so dumb to put a chunk of my roll in a cash game like that.

DAY 7: 2 more wins...

well the last 7 games I have played I have won 4 of them. It seems as if I am either placing in the middle in 5th 6th 7th, or I win. I had had 1 additonal bubble recently. I definately feel my bubble and three handed play has improved. I also have started to play 2 tables at a time, However it starts affecting my bottom line and my profit I wil have to re adjustand go back to 1 game at a time. If I do well this weekend playing two at a time I might move up to three to see how I fair.

DAY6: INTO THE GREEN

Well hopefully I dont jinx myself but I am in green four buy ins. This should give me a decent cushion since I have not been losing a ton, but been zig zagging back and forth over the black line. I played 4 games last night and placed 1st in two of them. I know this is taking a painfully long time, but once I get the feel for these more I will once again start adding tables and then my pace of completing the 1000 games will increase as well.

I also played a $5 45 man as part of my challenge over at Raise the River. Right now I have played two games and have 19 points. I really wanted another final table though and just missed it. The challenge is going to very hard to take down. I consider a lot of the players over at RTR much better then myself so if I could win this challenge it would be a huge ego boost.

Day 5 holding on...

I am still holding on to the pretty much even money zone in my quest. I spent yesterday playing mainly limit hold em, and a $5 45 man tournament. The 45 man tournament is par tof the current challenge over at Raise the River. Anyways I started off by getting coolered in the second hand. I held fast though and came back to pull off a
2nd place finish to give me a good start for the challenge.

I plan to some much need maintenance to my blog the next few days. So to all those that have mover you blog and such I am sorry for not updating my blogroll for this long.

Day 4: Can I be more unlucky...

LOL after 28 games i am down exactly $1.00 but I am running so bad. I keep losing AK/AQ vs Ax or KK vs 88 or some crazy shit like that. I know I am making mistakes and thos mistakes cost me my last game but I went on tilt after I lost a huge hand AK vs A8 and then worked really hard to rebuild from 500 chips to 2k get all in AA vs 34 off and the guy hit a straight. That left me with 805 with blinds of 800. So i pushed A9o only to be called by J9 and lost to trip J's.

I know its variance but even my wife is saying it seems I am on the losing end of this crap alot. It just wears on you when you make your opponent make a huge mistake For all of their chips and then they hit. I am taking the beats better then I used to but it still hurts.

Day 3: Creeping along...

Well I pretty much took the day off from playing the $5 dollar SnG's. I did play four and placed in 2 of those. So i am down exactly $1.50 total after playing 24 of them. I have given up trying to play real poker or what not and have adopted a push fold extra tight mentality on these. I seems to have helped and hopefully it will show in my future results.

I did play several mtts yesterday and I was just getting the shit kicked out of me. Then I started playing poorly. At one point I had lost a good chunk of my roll. At this point I decided to do the only smart thing I could think of and that was play above my roll and enter $20 27 man tourney. It was a very tough game but Imanaged to make some good plays and some even better folds. I ended up winning it for a nice $200.00 cash.

Hoping to get a few games in today... It feels good to be making regular updates again.

Day 2: A slight comeback...

After day ones horrendous punishment at the hands of thepoker gods I made a slight comeback in day two. I am still down a little over 1 buy in after 21 games. I actually had a profit after 19 but I actually screwed up the next two games when I should of easily cashed in the money, but instead i got cute and bubbled. So those last two games I screwed up. I looked at my poker office and so far I have had AA/KK a combined 11 times and won only 2 which were ones I got no action... Statistically I should be tearing up the tables right now.

I say this because most my big hands are getting crushed right at or right after the bubble. Well I have not lost my motivation and hopefully I will pick up some more cashes so I don't look like such a donkey...

Day 1: Bumpy Start

Well I played the first 7 of my 1000 $5.00 SnG. I placed 3rd in two of them which sucks so bad, but 5 games out of 7 including those two and 2 bubbles I went out as a 70% or more favorite. I also had one cooler. My exits or crippling hands were as follows.

AK vs AQ
AQ vs A10
AA vs JJ
Flopped str8 vs Flopped 2 pair and he got a boat on the river
AA vs KK
KK vs AA

Needless to say i am a bit demoralized right now. Hopefully day two will come out better.

Longest ever...

I think this is the longest I have waited to post. I have been extremely busy at work, and really have not had anything amazing to say lately. I pretty much have spent my time dwindling my money away bit by little bit...

Anyways after just slinging chips and dollars around for months. I think I might actually be ready to become a student of the game again. So I have decided to go back to the root of this blog and once again start a quest 1k $5 STT SnG to build my self a roll. During this time I will also participate in all the RtR challenges that I can as well as a few mtt's each week.

Now the Quest won't officially start until next week as I am in a training exercise with the military right now. During this exercise I plan to re read everything over at SnG planet over and over and really learn the STT. Once the quest begins I will update DAILY at least with my stats if I played that day.
